The Down Syndrome Parent Support Group is a nonprofit organization consisting of parents of children with Down Syndrome. Its purpose is to bring a greater acceptance and understanding-of Down Syndrome. The organization's mission is to make opportunities available for persons with Down Syndrome to engage productively in community life.
Meetings are conducted monthly during the school year. Guest speakers provide information on a wide variety of topics relating to Down Syndrome. The meetings are held the second Monday each of month at: Genesee County Chapter of NYSARC, 64 Walnut St. (Rt. 98) Batavia, NY. Meetings start at 7 pm.Family functions are held throughout the year.
OBJECTIVES
- To provide support and encouragement to persons with Down Syndrome and their Families.
- To provide families with current information on Down Syndrome.
- To be familiar with education programs, community services and other organizations  available for persons with Down Syndrome and their families.
- To work with other support groups and organizations to improve the quality of life for all disabled persons.

PARENT SUPPORT PROGRAM
The Parent Support Program provides support and intervention to parents of newly diagnosed infants with Down Syndrome. Volunteers are parents of children with Down Syndrome who are there to guide and assist new parents and families.
